Bickershoek , Amsterdam, 2002
The design has to relate to urban developments from various periods. The location of the site is also significant, because it forms the entrance to the island. It also acts as a link between the large-scale development on the eastern bank of Bickerseiland and the 18th century buildings on Zandhoek on the adjacent Realeneiland. As a waterway entrance, the complex marks the transition between the Realengracht and Westerdok.
