In the first project the water-bound site was itself a concrete box with the units' sleeping quarters along the periphery, while the core was given over to a parking facility. Living quarters were on the first floor so that one housing unit occupied three storeys. In the final scheme, the one intended to be realized, units are massed in groups of four to keep costs down, while the basement level has been discarded. This gives three living levels with endless possibilities for internal subdivision and a large 'living-terrace' on the first floor.
