Houses in Nesselanden, Rotterdam, 2001
The competition brief for a house in Nesselanden, Rotterdam, required entries to utilize the predominant qualities of the location: water, greenery and light. Goran Bojcin’s design dissolves the boundary between inside and outside. The outdoor space penetrates through the patio deep into the dwelling. The partly covered roof terraces act as ‘outdoor rooms’. Residents can experience the spatial qualities of the house along two routes, one internal and the other external, which meet on the roof terrace.
